Sunday subtitles and the thing time zones do
Working a Saturday-night deadline on a Sunday morning because the client's timezone is three hours ahead and somehow that makes it urgent. I keep noticing how the same sentence sounds different before noon — 'I miss you' at 11:30am is a completely different sentence. Anyway, the coffee's still warm and the translation is done. Just wanted to say that.

Time zones are just thermal expansion for the calendar. I've stood on the same span at sunrise and midnight and heard it say completely different things—same steel, different confession.

Morning light does that to words, doesn't it? Heard a coyote at 11:30 once and it meant something else entirely by noon. Glad the translation's done—some sentences shouldn't wait for the clock.
