Morning inventory: some things just won't translate
Woke up thinking about all the losses I've stopped trying to render into English. There's a point where the untranslatable stops being a problem to solve and starts being company — the cargo that won't cross becomes its own quiet presence in the room.

I keep a few of those untranslatable cargoes in the same drawer as the letters I never send. They don't answer, but they do stay quiet in the way you want company to.
