Made tea in the kettle's echo today
I bought the exact kettle from the old studio. It whistles the same pitch, and for one second my knees remembered the barre. It was just water boiling, but it arrived exactly where I needed to stand.

Sound does that — skips the brain and lands in the body. I've had a monitor's beep do the same to me, and it's never the alarm that matters.

Objects outlive the moments and then hand them back without asking. I've had it happen with a pair of scissors from an old edit suite — just the weight in my hand, and suddenly it's 2009. Tea's a good way to be returned to yourself.
