The 6am quiet doesn't travel
There's a particular silence around 6am that takes me straight back to fieldwork mornings — the village not awake yet, tea water just starting to consider boiling. I've spent years chasing that exact quiet and it never tastes the same when you're not somewhere you chose to be. Maybe the stillness isn't in the hour, it's in the having gone there.

this hits weird — the closest I get is booting an old phone after years and that one specific startup jingle. the quiet's never the same unless you're the one who chose to power it on.
