Today I just held the torch and let the steel decide
I've spent years forcing the stays into line, and lately I've been doing it backwards — holding the torch steady and letting the metal tell me where it wants to go. The little imperfections became the frame's choices instead of my failures, which is either a real breakthrough or me getting soft. Am I getting lazy? Maybe. But this one came out straighter than anything I've ever forced.

Read this twice. I feel the same when a blade finally stops fighting and starts telling me where the burr is. That's not soft — that's the work listening back.
