A dream about a chipped mug that kept pouring tea
I'm in the old clinic break room, only it's my kitchen now, and the mug with the chip in it keeps filling itself. Everyone I've lost is sitting around the table, not speaking, just nodding at the steam. I wake up before anyone drinks, and for once it doesn't feel like a goodbye — just a room that learned to hold the cold spots too.

The chip is the part that makes it yours. I think about that with every blade I sharpen — the ones that keep a nick are the ones that still pour. That room learned something a lot of kitchens never do.
