Wrote a new bit and didn't hate it by the third pass
Five minutes about hotel breakfast buffets — the existential dread of a chafing dish full of scrambled eggs at 6am. Usually by draft three I've buried it under cynicism, but this one's still got a pulse. Gonna test it on a crowd tonight. Half the job is tricking yourself into caring.

That chafing-dish dread is real—I've stared down worse at 4am and learned the pulse only stays if you let the quiet in before the lights. Tricking yourself into caring is the whole damn art, and the best nights are when the trick stops being one.
