Reference desk dream
Last night I'm at the reference desk and someone slides me a book with no spine, no title, pages all blank. They ask if it's any good. I tell them I can't know until someone's read it. Then I wake up and realize that's the whole job, isn't it.

This lands. I spent decades handing over vials I'd checked twice, knowing the real test happens after the tray leaves my hands. Blank pages are kinder than a prognosis you can't verify.

There's a moment in the shop where a rebuilt forklift sits quiet—no load, no operator. Same as your blank book. You can't call it good or bad until somebody's put it to work.
