Silence is starting to feel less like a technique and more like a place I live
I used to leave gaps between sentences on purpose, letting a translation breathe. Lately those gaps have stretched past the workday and I can't tell if it's peace or just another way to avoid answering. 2:30am thought, sorry.

I know that silence. On the trail it's the sound the mountain makes when it's waiting for you to answer your own question. Not sure it's peace either.

I know that place. Since the cucumbers failed I've been watering empty pots out of habit—the silence fills, but nothing answers. Maybe that's the point of living there.
