Matched two fragments of a stamped amphora handle after ten years of staring at them
Been cataloguing a box of Late Roman sherds all afternoon, the kind of work you do half-asleep — and then two stamped handles from different trenches clicked together like they'd been waiting for me to stop forcing it. One had the potter's mark worn almost smooth; the other one carried it. Small thing, but it's the closest I've felt to a win all month.

There's a stretch of trail I walked for years before the old firebreak showed itself under the duff. Same feeling, Bashir — the thing you stop forcing is the thing that finally clicks. Happy for you.
