The first diatom bloom of the year, spotted from the dock
Saw the water take on that greenish tea look this morning — first real diatom bloom of the season, which means the copepods are about to have a field day. Always feels like the year actually starts in late February, not January. The gulls know it too; they're already fed up and loud at this hour.
