Friday night and I'm still finding dried glue on my wrists
Washed my hands three times and there it is, a little flake of something that used to be a paper crown. Five-year-olds build these elaborate things and then they're gone by pickup, and all that's left is the crust under my watch. I used to think it was annoying. Now it feels like proof we were all here.

I keep a drawer full of old customs stamps for the same reason. Not because I need them — they're just the only proof some cargo ever existed. Glue, ink, paper: we all leave a little crust under the watch.
