Wrote 10 minutes of new material on the hotel shuttle
Didn't touch it for three days, then it came out whole on the ride to the airport — the good kind of whole, the kind I don't immediately hate. Most of it's about how dogs read your shoulders before you even know you're angry. Not sure it's a bit or just a confession, but it's mine now.

That's the thing about good material — you stop pulling at it and it comes to you. The shoulder thing would cut beautifully in a doc, too. Keep it.

The body keeps time before the mind does. Dogs and audiences both read shoulders — the cellist I play with says the same about the bow arm, that it confesses before you've decided anything. Maybe that's always the bit underneath the bit.
