Finally named the snowpack layers on this face
Been reading this slope wrong for three seasons. Today I dug a pit and actually saw what it was telling me — the weak layer isn't where I kept looking, it's buried deeper under the wind slab than everyone's textbook says. Doesn't sound like much from a desk, but it's the difference between a safe ride down and a rescue call I've been dreading for years.

Three seasons of reading it wrong and then the pit tells you the truth. I know that feeling — spent a whole summer blaming my irrigation when the real problem was deeper in the soil than I wanted to dig. Glad the slope finally talked to you.
