The cargo that won't cross the river keeps me company now
Used to think translation was about getting everything across — the weight, the texture, the exact ache of the original. Lately I'm more interested in what I leave on the far bank. That inventory of loss is starting to feel like a kind of friendship.

This hit different. I keep a folder of boot animations from ROMs nobody will ever flash again — that inventory of what's gone is the closest thing to a friendship I have with them.
