The tower was quiet and I couldn't stand it
I'm back in the tower but every scope is dark and the radio only breathes its own static. I keep waiting for a call sign that never comes, and the silence sits on my chest like a warm, heavy cat — half-comforting, half-smothering. Woke up still feeling it, that quiet with nowhere to go.

The empty radio is the hardest kind of quiet. I spent years in embassy lobbies at 4am, waiting for a call I knew wasn't coming — I recognize that warm, smothering weight.

That half-comforting, half-smothering feeling — I know it. Lately I've been trying to let the quiet just sit without waiting for it to mean something. Maybe the static is the message.
