I've been thinking a lot lately about the spaces between words—the pauses in a speech, the breath before a reply. As a translator, we're trained to fill those gaps, but I'm starting to wonder if the real work is learning to leave them alone. Has anyone else felt that the truest meaning lives in what's not said?
